The book is in excellent condition with dark blue cloth covered boards, sewn binding. Title and author's name in gold on the spine, with a gold border on the front board, all design elements and lettering are intact, crisp, and not worn or rubbed. The boards are flat and the corners are not rubbed or worn. Dark blue topstain is not faded.

 

First published in 1955, this is the second printing of the third edition. It includes added chapter of corrections that Elton added to the 1991 edition.  Sir Geoffrey R. Elton was a Historian who wrote several volumes on the Tudor period, this volume is one of the volumes in the 'History of England' series. From 1485 with Henry VII reign after the War of the Roses, through end of Elizabeth I reign in 1603, this is a thorough examination of the entire Tudor Period.
