This book is in very good condition for its age and is in a good dustwrapper, which has a cellophane protective cover over the top. The book is made up of covers of green cloth, gilt title to spine and embossed title to front cover. There are pictorial endpapers of Miss Lee's Islands, as well as black and white illustrations, which are all done by Ransome.
This is the tenth book in the Swallows and Amazons series, and is set in 1930s China. The Swallows and Amazons are on a round-the-world trip with Captain Flint aboard the schooner Wild Cat. After the Wild Cat sinks, they escape in the boats Swallow and Amazon, but are separated in a storm. Both dinghies eventually end up in the lair of the Three Island pirates—Chang, Woo and Lee—where they are held prisoner by the unusual Missee Lee, the leader of the Three Island pirates.
