Bijou Books came to being as my mother runs an antiques business with my father - Bijou Antiques - as we all love the 'something old' side of things.

After a few visits to Hay on Wye - it is the book lovers Mecca - and an investment or two into some books, we decided to make the leap and open a bookshop based at the Pumping Station on Penarth Road in Cardiff.

While every bookshelf needs its modern books and tomes, there is something about an antique or vintage book that just makes it that extra bit special.
