First Edition (1943). Published by Alfred A. Knopf, New York. The book is in great condition for its age, with both maps, one on the frontispiece and at the beginning of Chapter 11 is a fold out map of the British positions in Libya.

The book is the story of the WWII campaigns in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia through the eyes of the author/reporter, who was one of the youngest but most experienced correspondents covering the epic of the Eighth Army, its near defeat and its magnificent comeback in the 1,500-mile advance from El Alamein to Tunisia.
