The book is in very good condition is covered in green art silk cloth decorated with gilt and a white camelia design, with some discolouration to the spine, in a slipcase that has usual signs of shelfwear. This volume is translated from the French by Barbara Bray and illustrated by Jennifer Campbell.
The book is the enduring beautiful and sad story, bordering on Dumas' own life, (retold in drama and opera - The Lady of the Camelias and La Traviata).
