The books are in excellent condition, bound in the original gilt lettered pale blue cloth illustrated in gilt to upper boards and spines. The slipcases are sturdy, with one having minimal shelfwear and marking, alongside an illustrated insert to the side. The second slipcase has some pitting to the top (pictured and reflected in the price), but there's no other damage.
 
The Arabian Nights or The Book of the Thousand Nights and One Night in a complete set of six volumes in two slipcases. Rendered into English from the literal and complete French translation of Dr. J. C. Mardrus by Powys Mathers,  the books are introduced by Marina Warner, with illustrations by Kay Nielsen, Grahame Baker, Debra McFarlane, Roman Pisarev, Jane Ray, and Neil Packer.
