This the first complete edition of The Duke's Children. With an introduction by Joanna Trollope and accompanied by a companion volume which contains critical essays by Steven Amarnick, Robert F. Wiseman, Susan Lowell Humphreys and Michael G. Wiliamson. Two volumes. Main volume half bound in green Morocco with raised bands to the spine. Commentary volume bound in green cloth. Housed in a matching green slipcase. Both are fine copies with no blemishes, fading or inscriptions.
The Duke's Children was first published in 1879 and follows a Duke, whose wife unexpectedly dies and he is left to deal with his estranged grown up children. Anthony Trollope was a Victorian author, his best work being the series of novels The Chronicles of Barsetshire.
