The book is in very good condition, with some minor wear to the dustjacket and to the cloth backed boards / spine. Full numberline starting from 2 with the words "First Edition" (this is correct for Random House at that point in their history) and initials TB in copper toned ink as required to front board. 
 
Illustrated in both colour and black & white by the Hildebrandts. 
 
The first book in the Shannara fantasy series which follows a reluctant hero against the forces of evil set in a future world after a nuclear holocaust in civilisation has developed along the lines of faery folk. It was later developed into a limited series on Netflix starring Austin Butler.
