The book has many of the selections from Wilde's best known works, such as The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Importance of Being Earnest, De Profundis, The Ballad of Reading Gaol, and his unsurpassed children's stories. There are also six of Wilde's essays, not as well known but no less trenchant. They include Personal Impressions of America, A Handbook to Marriage, The American Invasion, an excerpt from The Decay of Lying.
