First Folio Society edition. Published by the Folio Society, London, 1982. The book is in very good condition, with minimal damage or wear. It is missing its slipcase, which is reflected in the price. The book includes an introduction by Richard Hoggart and 17 lithographic plates by Charles Raymond.

As the sequel to The Rainbow, this book follows the continuing loves and lives of the Brangwen sisters, Gudrun and Ursula. Gudrun is an artist, and she pursues a destructive relationship with Gerald Crich, an industrialist. Lawrence contrasts this pair with the love that develops between Ursula and Rupert Birkin, who is an alienated intellectual who articulates many opinions associated with the author. The emotional relationships are given further depth and tension by an intense psychological and physical attraction between Gerald and Rupert.
